Romina and Juliet are communicating across a distance of several thousand million light years via the transfer of truly neutral particles with variable frequencies encoding information. While relating stories of the particle accelerators she recently built, Romina mentions the time she watched the decays of a number of charged B mesons, each consisting of a beauty antiquark and an up quark, transforming into a combination of π and K mesons. several thousand million years later, Juliet responds saying that she had performed the exact same experiment, except she found that the probability of a B+→π+K+K- decay was 20% higher than in Romina’s experiment! After eight million years of thinking each (their brains run slowly at 100nK in order to conserve energy), both independently come to the realization that their respective particles are antimatter counterparts of each other. They spend 5x10^19 joules each in energy credits to convert their bodies to particles of the opposite C-parity. several thousand million years later, as they receive each others’ communicatory particles, they realize what has happened, but they cannot perform a second operation, for their remaining economic resources sum to only 3x10^19 joules, and it is impossible to get a higher credit score because the intergalactic economy leverages opaque hyperintelligent predictors to take into account all past present and future economic output in the calculations of all agents’ lifetime value in order to predict default rates, which unfortunately means that all social mobility is zero because the value of every agent’s lifetime value is computed before they are even created. Aghast at the thought that they would never get close enough to the agents assigned in their corrigibility circuits as subject-of-love in order to talk with less than several-thousand-million-year latency, Romina drinks a vial of magnetically-contained antiparticles and explodes, and Juliet stabs herself.
